Disclaimer:
One of the most disturbing aspects of our conditioning is that we are raised to be highly susceptible to fairytales, myths, deceit, and cons. Our almost obsessive need to believe in something is one of the most common signs of a person’s state of de-powering oneself and exposing himself or herself to a wide range of destructive elements.
This addiction to belief is also in part due to our need for confirmation in a nurturing way – a way that we expect and desire to bring safety and a sense of belonging within our society. These are powerful forces and evolutionary agents that stem from hundreds of thousands of genetic adaptations from a single cell formation to a tribal, social environment that continues to function as a single, extended organism.
Modern society has devised a number of systems that attempt to maintain the balance between gullibility and common sense, one of these systems is the legal one, where one must not make false claims but most importantly must assume responsibility for one’s claims.
This is where another legal term comes into play – disclaimer.
A disclaimer is a legal loophole that allows us to free ourselves from responsibility in certain situations. In this particular case, as it is the case with most theories and practices distributed via books or any other means of distribution, a disclaimer would allow me to be free of any responsibility in case you may hurt yourself during the practice of any of the experiments presented within the book. It actually frees me from the responsibility of the impact that my words may have upon you, in case you yourself decided to give up common sense.
You have to know that I strongly stand against all dogma and all of its forms of manifestation. My understanding of a disclaimer is that beyond its legal implications, it is a common sense reminder. We use disclaimers on cigarette packs, don’t we? The tobacco industry warns people on every single pack of cigarettes that smoking kills. Shouldn’t we look at all products that are being sold with the same scrutiny and desire to protect the consumer? If so, then even a philosophy book should carry a disclaimer – a reminder of common sense – that the words within are not to be taken ad litteram, but instead are to become a subject of intellectual inquiry under a certain percentage of common sense. If we would be required to do so, the number of false prophets would drop significantly, but more importantly, the number of gullible followers would probably also decrease considerably.
Imagine for a moment that the Bible or any other sacred book, were to be published with a disclaimer at the end of it, stating that the book is a collection of stories passed on, from generation to generation – initially as part of an oral tradition, then taking the form of a more solid form and conducive to being considered as good as truth – written words. The disclaimer would actually be that everything we read in the Bible is either someone’s opinion or hearsay, and, customers should be warned against the possibility that if they assume the contents of the book to be the absolute truth, they should do so at their own risk of becoming permanently conditioned and enslaved to interpretation and belief.
The point I am trying to make is that every time we expose ourselves to a new idea, we must use our common sense and not discard it nor accept it without individual inquiry and research. Just because a theory or a practice makes us happy, it is not sufficient to make it the absolute truth, or non-hazardous to our health. Just because a theory makes sense, it is not enough reason to suspend our common sense and either jump at it in denial, or embrace it in unconditional belief.
The disclaimer I wish to make about this book and about my Evolutionary Exploration theory is as follows:
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, all content on the Evolutionary Exploration Book and Website is the opinion of its author, and, the experiments described within this book are not a substitute for medical advice or treatment. Always contact your own doctor or other professional healthcare provider if you have a question concerning your or your family's health. THE PRACTICE OF ANY OF THE EXPERIMENTS PRESENTED WITHIN EVOLUTIONARY EXPLORATION IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Please note: There are a number of purchasing options available for this book. The thought behind creating different formats was the desire to make the book affordable for everyone interested to read it. There will be a few low-budget options available for special circumstances (students, members of study groups, etc.) Visit the Shop to purchase your copy.
...and common sense:
The common sense element of this disclaimer is that you understand and agree that both the Evolutionary Exploration Book and the Evolutionary Exploration Website do Not Provide Medical Advice or Endorsements. FOR SYMPTOMS, QUESTIONS AND MEDICAL ADVICE SEE YOUR M.D.! Accordingly, Evolutionary Exploration is not a system to follow, but a reminder that FOLLOWING IS A SIGN OF CONDITIONING.
FURTHERMORE, YOU UNDERSTAND AND AGREE TO EXPLORE YOUR POTENTIAL AT YOUR OWN RISK OF NEVER BEING SUSCEPTIBLE TO CONDITIONING AGAIN, AND THAT SHARING AND TEACHING OTHERS – INCLUDING YOUR OFFSPRING – THE KNOWLEDGE AND POWER YOU MAY OBTAIN IS OF YOUR OWN CHOICE AND FOR THE POSSIBLE BENEFIT OF ALL PEOPLE.
